The 'contemporary kimono' collection is made up of 3 looks. developed for the idea of traditional kimono

but wearable in western culture and settings.

The concept was to keep the Kimono essence as much as possible.

Each garment took significant time and care.

From taking apart deadstock kimono and print, and embroidery to match for new pattern cutting.

Any offcuts are re-used for accessories.

This is another important essence of the Zero waste garment of the Kimono.

My role within this project consisted of designing, fittings, and liaising for the production process for sampling and final production.

Made with 100% silk in a factory in London.
